Our Mission...

Applying spirituality in a practical, common sense manner to daily life for success and happiness. To help you to discover that personal kernel of spiritual wisdom that exists within.

Polarity

Polarity is a natural condition in the physical world, and is reflected in the physical properties of hot and cold, light and dark, dry and wet, etc. Human thought is also polarized; behaviorism, spiritualism, communism, and capitalism ( to name only a gew!) run the gamut from dictatorship to anarchy, from hatred to love, and from callousness to compassion. Because human thought tends toward inflexibility -- which then leads to argument and violence -- it is assumed that polarity is inherently a bad thing. But that assumption is unwarranted! Polarity is completely natural and goes hand-in-hand with wholeness and understanding.

Polarity is defined as 'the possession or manifestation of two opposing attributes, tendencies or principles.'

'An individual or polar extreme.' (American Heritage Dictionary).

Electrically, polarity is defined as 'the condition of being positive or negative in relation to a magnetic pole.' (Webster's New World Dictionary, College Edition).

A dipole is defined as two electric charges separated by a distance. A battery is a kind of dipole. It has two poles, positive and negative, creating a potential between the two poles that can be directed to do useful work. A hydrogen atom is also a dipole, because it has two charges, a positive one on the nucleus and a negative one on the electron, separated by a distance.

The point is that a dipole generates energy.

Without separated and opposing charges or potentials, no energy can be generated. And without energy, their can be no life!

Polarity has gotten a bad name in some circles.

It is said by some that the ideal condition for existence is a state of harmony and peace. Such a system is characterized by broad agreement. However, such a system is stagnant; it is not generating much energy within itself. When the electrons within the battery find complete balance, that battery is "dead," meaning that it will no longer generate energy, because the surplus electrons at the cathode (negative pole) have all flowed to the anode (positive pole). Perfect balance has been achieved.

Complete harmony cannot be an ideal state for physical existence. A state of complete harmony is unchanging, and will collapse if the system is ever thrown out of balance.

We have stated this principle before in relation to tensegrity structures (see The Geometry of Harmony) .

Polarity or duality is an IDEAL CONDITION because the energy generated within it leads to more and more abundance, expansion, and growth.

Polarity by definition requires separateness of the two plates or poles of the dipole.

In order for there to be energy at all there must be a separation.

Metaphysically speaking, Oneness does not generate any energy. At a minimum Twoness, which involves separation, is required for energy generation or transfer.

Oneness may be an ideal condition for a state of BEING, but it is a poor idea for a physical universe!

Energy is the potential difference between two terminals. Energy can be potential (as in voltage) or kinetic (as in current flow).

First comes differentiation, which must involve a separation from the observer/creator. In order to have a universe at all, in order for there to be EXISTENCE in any form, as opposed to a pure potential, there must be separation, which creates space. Polarity is a natural condition for all things in the physical universe.

At the same time there is, inherently, an intimate relationship between the two separated things. This intimate relationship mitigates the confrontational effects of polarity. To understand this, we have to understand the nature of reality, which depends upon a correct definition of consciousness.

In the vibrational universe concept, a thought is the underlying, fundamental quanta of the universe. Thought is the product of consciousnes. Consciousness is non-physical; a pure, creative potential. Consciousness is Brahman, out of which the material world of Form is created. Thus we transcend the contradiction of the Conservation of Energy law in physics, which states that energy can neither be created nor destroyed. This postulate leads inevitably to a giant contradiction, for it means that all of the energy in the universe must have existed, without reduction or increase, since time t = 0. When there are two contradictory postulates, one of them is wrong! The contradictory postulate is the conmservation law.

Consciousness exists independent of physical containers or forms. Consciousness creates energy via thought. We define a virtual function, f, which maps a thought, t, into existence. We write f(t) --> q, where q is a quanta of energy. Energy is composed of quanta (thought), as a direct by-product of consciousness, as are the subatomic particles that create atoms, elements, and compounds. The act of thinking a thought creates space between the thinker and the thought, but in fact this 'space' is just an extension of the consciousness which created the thought/particle (see the essay The Creation of a Universe on this website, and the movie, https://www.sunrise-production.org/unity1.html).

Each quantum is discrete, and so separate from other quanta; therefore, each thought is separate. After the First and Second Thoughts, the First Dipole was created. Although these now have independent existence and are separated, they have affinity towards each other because both particles came from the same source, and are the creations of that source. The space between them is merely an extension of the consciousness which created them, and cannot be separated from the particles themselves. In other words, an ineffable thought substance fills the ethers, the vacuum, and is within all things. We have, at the same time, separateness, and intimate connection!

Space and whatever is in the space (matter and energy) are intimately connected.

From our human viewpoint, we perceive space as lifeless and cold, but this occurs because the construction of our very limited senses, which perceive on a minuscule bandwidth.

The polarity of our world is only perceptual, and the rigidity of thought -- black and white thinking, "you're either with us or against us" thinking, instead of nuanced thinking -- has been inculcated into our belief systems for millennia. In fact the energy of a proton or a neutron or a quark is not different from the energy of an electron. Ultimately, all Form (matter and energy) is composed of the same thought energy, and, ultimately, cannot be separated from the space which allows each particle or quanta to be discrete.

In other words, energy is isotropic, meaning that its inherent nature is indistinguishable from one particle, atom, or compound, to the other: what diferentiates Form is its internal geometry. All things manifest from an underlying Wholeness, or implicate order, which is itself the product of consciousness, and is therefore intimately connected with us, with every human being and life form on earth.

Polarity is an essential condition for existence, for without it, a physical universe could not exist. Without polarity, there can be no separateness, and therefore no existence. So if we want to play around in a universe, we must embrace the idea of polarity. If we do not, we individuate ourselves more and more from the world around us. We become separate from the life force energy of Source that surrounds and nourishes us.

So when you observe something out there that you don't like, lighten up! It's just polarity, a natural and ideal condition for the universe we live in.
